I hate The Stranger
I would have hate it less if someone did not approach me while I was reading the book, and said, "Oh you know, he shoots a guy, gets the death penalty and dies". But I still do not understand why Meursault died if apparently, killing an Arab is a lesser offense than killing a French person, and murder of one person doesn't warrant a death penalty in the first place. As I read on the very confusing second part of the book, apparently it is because of Meursault's personality is the reason why Meursault got the death penalty. However, I disagree with that. I think it is because the prosecutor is mentally retarded for suggesting the death penalty in the first place. Ok, Meursault is incapable of feeling remorse, but no one feels remorse for someone they killed unless it's been at least a year. Secondly, even if the prosecutor is doing his job of trying to implement the maximum sentence possible on every suspect he meets, no prosecutor suggests the death penalty for a murder of an "inferior race". There is absolutely zero logic in that trial at all, that is why the book sucks.
